Leo New Moon

Leo Full Moon

In general, Full moons are times of release.  As you think on where you want to be in life, acknowledge what or who maybe giving you the most resistance. One key to releasing anything is to be sure that you mean it. If you aren’t ready just yet, that’s okay. There’s always the next full moon. Once you write a list of what you’d like to release, burn it and flush the ashes. Feel the separation as the smoke rises up and away from you. Embrace your new found freedom.

This reading is for the Leo Full Moon that occurs on August 7, 2017. The decks used for it are the Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue and the Journey of Love deck by Alana Fairchild.

For Singles:

Have you found yourself a little more sensitive to things lately? Did a specific song, voice, movie or other occurrence trigger an old memory or feeling? Let it come up, acknowledge it and consciously set it down. Do not cling to the baggage of old lovers and let it inhibit the existence of your peace. Do not embrace the worry that things a past lover said are the reasons you can’t currently find a mate. Instead, if you agree it is a detriment, work on releasing it. Add it to your list of things to let go. Additionally, let go of those feelings of guilt, whether you’re blaming them or yourself. No one is perfect.

You can’t move on when you’re still running back to see what another person from your past is doing. You’ve tied a rubber band type leash to them and keep returning, but are telling yourself that you don’t know why. It’s not them, it’s you. Take responsibility for the choices you are currently making versus the actions people have committed against you in the past. Aren’t you ready to be free to find your true passions and be rid of the smoldering ash of the past?

This is truly a time to save yourself from the abusive narrative that you’ve adopted as your story. Your scars do not define you; they simply bear witness that you walked through fire and survived. Now is the time to walk in the success that you created. Your walk will be so much easier if you put down all the baggage packed with issues that are too heavy to carry.

For Non-Singles:

While we love to tend to our partners and relationships, sometimes, we forget our own passions. With this moon, let go of the fears that your relationship will fall apart if you pick up a hobby or interest that your partner(s) doesn’t/don’t want to join. It may be a sensitive subject at first, but you have a right and responsibility to yourself to continue to work on you while in a relationship. You don’t have to, nor should you, stop your growth as an individual just because you’re romantically involved. Whether you want to learn a new instrument, take a creative writing course or simply watch a movie that doesn’t interest your partner(s); it’s okay to do that.

Don’t let worry of separation bother you or embrace anxiety over what your significant other or others may be doing without you. Now is a good time to let go of the idea that you should be the center of their world or that they should be the center of yours. You won’t lose your connection by still developing as an individual. Let your passion for something new and exciting ignite their attraction for you. Who knows, they might even want to join in. And if not, they should be happy to see you so enthralled with life and new experiences.

So Now What?

Get those lists together that name the things, attitudes, habits, people, fears, etc. that you want to work on releasing. It doesn’t matter how long or short your list is. Remember to be honest with yourself as you create the list though. Are you truly committed to putting in the work it takes to let the listed items go? And don’t forget to be kind to yourself if you slip, and be rewarding when you succeed. Correct yourself in love and accept your flaws while celebrating your victories. This list and its destruction are very personal experiences, but if you need or want an accountability partner, get one! There are many roads that lead to success, so find yours and get to steppin’!

Until the next new moon,

Love, light and growth.
